Hello faithful readers (and not so faithful). I have completely lost track of what day in my travels I am on, but it is somewhere around the middle of the thrid week. Today Adam and I caught a Sangtao (a truck that picks people up as they are walking along and takes you where you want to\u00c2\u00a0go – kinda like a bus taxi in a truck) to Chawang Beach.\u00c2\u00a0 Chawang Beach is where people who are looking for a more drunken vacation stay.\u00c2\u00a0 Lots of bars and excitment around every corner.\u00c2\u00a0 It is also where our cooking class is located.\u00c2\u00a0 SITCA is an upscale Thai cooking classroom.\u00c2\u00a0 They did all the hard work – like pealing onions and combining liquids for the sauce – so that all we had to do was the chopping and stir-frying.\u00c2\u00a0 I felt like I was on one of those cooking shows where as soon as the chef needs something, ah, there it is right at his fingertips.\u00c2\u00a0 No cleaning needed.\u00c2\u00a0 The food we made was outstanding.\u00c2\u00a0 Our teacher is apprently ranked number 7 in the world for her fried rice.\u00c2\u00a0 We made duck red curry, seafood stir fry, mushroom soup, and fried rice.\u00c2\u00a0 Once we finished we got to sit down and have a lovely dinner with WAY too much food.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to try some of these recipes at home (even if I will have to do the liquid combining and cleaning).\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
You will all be proud of me.\u00c2\u00a0 Yesterday, I actually signed up to take the scuba certification course.\u00c2\u00a0 I even paid money – so I guess I’m committed.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m still terrified, but at least the first day is in the classroom and the second in at a pool, so I should be safe for a little while.\u00c2\u00a0 Other than that, not a lot to report.\u00c2\u00a0 Adam and I are regulars at the local market here.\u00c2\u00a0 They all laugh when they see me and say “Ped Ped” which means very spicy.\u00c2\u00a0 I think they are trying to see what my limit is – each time I get something, it is spicier…they haven’t beat me yet.\u00c2\u00a0 I’ll keep you posted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
