Despite the friendly reassurances by our midwife that everything is going beautifully, we know that everything is not peaches and cream because we have to do a “non-stress test” today.\u00c2\u00a0 This test is a misnomer if I ever heard one.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m feeling stressed about it.\u00c2\u00a0 The baby even gets a score (now we’re testing our kids inside the womb).\u00c2\u00a0 I feel fairly confident that the little one will pass with flying colors, but it still makes me nervous to get hooked up to all that machinery.\u00c2\u00a0 Adam has taken the day off just so that he can come along – what a prince.<\/p>\n
In other baby news, I passed my mucus plug yesterday!\u00c2\u00a0 This is a huge milestone.\u00c2\u00a0 I won’t get into too much detail as it tends to gross people out, but I was very excited (although I have to keep reminding myself that I had a friend who went almost three weeks after passing her mucus plug).<\/p>\n
I think that I am a good luck talisman for all of my friends.\u00c2\u00a0 While the average first baby is born 8 days late, every single one of my friends has either been early or right on time.\u00c2\u00a0 I went to a La Leche League meeting yesterday and discovered that two of my friends who were due right around the same time that I was both had beautiful two week old babies (one was early and the other was right on the due date).\u00c2\u00a0 I have to keep reminding myself that having a late baby is normal despite the total lack of evidence of this phenomenon in my personal life.<\/p>\n
