Seattle has officially become the HOTTEST place in the world.\u00c2\u00a0 We broke record temperatures today as the thermometer reached 90 degrees!!!\u00c2\u00a0 Normally a time to celebrate – run around in the sun with squirt bottles and jump in the sound.\u00c2\u00a0 Today, however, 42 weeks pregnant, I wanted nothing more than to collapse in a pool of my own sweat.<\/p>\n
I woke up this morning to a slightly painful contraction (its the first time a contraction has woken me up) and I thought to myself “this is it.”\u00c2\u00a0 I even woke Adam up to tell him.\u00c2\u00a0 While I continued to contract all day with varying levels of pain, my contractions never got more intense or regular.\u00c2\u00a0 Sometimes a few hours would pass without any, then I’d get 4 in half an hour.\u00c2\u00a0 They were strongest and most regular when I was sitting down.\u00c2\u00a0 So, being the overanxious parents that we are, Adam and I timed my contractions for hours before we were forced to admit that they were hardly regular and not very strong.\u00c2\u00a0 Remembering that keeping active is supposed to help contractions along, Adam and I went to the park and had a picnic.\u00c2\u00a0 It was gorgeous and fun and then we had a BBQ for dinner.\u00c2\u00a0 An incredibly fun day that would have been even more fun if I had been in more pain on a regular basis \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
Its hard to imagine that one way or another I will have a baby in my arms in just a few days.\u00c2\u00a0 Monday is the deadline.\u00c2\u00a0 Did you know that there are more babies born on Tuesday than any other day of the week.\u00c2\u00a0 Saturday has the fewest number of births.\u00c2\u00a0 It makes sense if you think about all the planned C-sections and induced labors – doctors wanting to get them done earlier in the week and not on the weekend.\u00c2\u00a0 Just thought I share that tidbit.<\/p>\n
There is a good chance that the baby will come tonight.\u00c2\u00a0 Keep your fingers crossed for me, and thank you for all your support though this process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
