Baby Due
Posted by lena on May 2nd, 2008 filed in baby newsHas our language become so imprecise that words like “due” mean nothing? Promises were clearly implied with the phrase “due date”, yet, is there a baby…no…well, I guess technically there is, its just firmly embedded in my belly. Oh well. I guess it just shows that my little one is far more patient than I am. Adam and I are celebrating our due date this afternoon by attending (what will probably be our last for a while) happy hour. Neither one of us drinks but the food deals are great.
Adam and I discovered a great park close to our house yesterday during our after dinner walk. After a few treacherous moments crossing the freeway, we found this beautiful oasis of green complete with a dog park, play field, and playground. I love Seattle. The entire walk took about an hour and a half and only one little contraction the entire time! Its really weird knowing this major life-changing event is about to occur, but you have no idea when it is going to happen. It could be weeks or it could be hours. Planning things has become this roll of the dice. “yes, I’d love to go to your concert tomorrow. I’m absolutely free, unless I have a baby.” Our Midwife told us that babies love to interrupt plans so the best thing we can do is plan as many things as possible. I’m trying to take her advice, but its really not as easy as it sounds.
