Ways you know that your husband has officially become a daddy:  1. He continually talks in a high pitched voice even when the baby is not around.  2. He creates his own songs replacing the names with the name of his child.  3. when he says “hey, check out that cute girl playing the water” he is not referring to a hot girl, but a rather a charming 4 year old.

We saved up our energy today and make our way to the folklife festival at the Seattle center.  The day was beautiful and the festival was full of life.  Despite the blaring trumpets, thousands of people, array of smells, and heat of the early summer day, Ilya didn’t wake up once.  When she is determined to sleep nothing can wake her up.  This is a wonderful trait at night.  She has began to get in the sleep pattern of waking every 2 hours, quietly stirring, feeding, then going right back to sleep for another 2 to 3 hours.  It is absolutely heavenly.  I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful child.  She is amazing and sweet beyond belief.
